Well, as I mentioned during our GOYA, The Met team was set to visit our Holding. Here they are! The Met team visited our Çamlıca Campus! Together, we explored our “Talking Writings” exhibition featuring traditional calligraphy pieces from the Yıldız Holding Art Collection, as well as exhibitions of contemporary and archaeological artworks. This valuable visit allowed us to share the joy of meeting through the universal language of art and sharing our cultural heritage. While exploring the rare works of esteemed artists in our collection with The Met team, we also experienced the evolution of art from past to present. The elegance of traditional calligraphy and the innovative spirit of contemporary art came together in this special meeting.
Later, we gave them the opportunity to see the beauty of our beloved Istanbul, the jewel of the world, with a Bosphorus tour. We were very happy. As I always say, art has a unique power to unite us, offering new perspectives and a sense of healing—something we once again experienced. I appreciate The Met team’s visit and the engaging conversations we had; it was a pleasure to host them.
By the way, speaking of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, last year’s Turkish Centennial Gala, held to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Türkiye and celebrate Turkish art, not only provided funding to support Turkish art initiatives in the museum’s Islamic Art Department but also contributed to the preservation of our country’s cultural heritage. As you can appreciate, with such a special evening, we had the opportunity to share Turkey’s rich cultural heritage with the world, which must have generated significant interest in our artworks…
